CEBE Student Award 2010

Deadline for submissions: 1st June 2010

'How has project work enhanced your learning experience'

From the start of many built environment courses, there is an enormous range of subject knowledge to impart and this is often shaped by lecturers' interests, expertise and values.  Project work can however provide an opportunity for students to actively tailor their own learning based on personal interests and experiences. In some cases you may have worked closely with lecturers to help you define activities that are most appropriate to your needs.  This year's CEBE student competition provides you with an opportunity to think about your own role and input to such a project(s) and how this has impacted on your learning experience.

Questions you may wish to think about when presenting your ideas:

  • How did the project work?
  • What was your role?
  • What was the tutor's role?
  • What did you learn from the experience?
  • What worked well?
  • What worked less well?
  • What was surprising?

Entries may be submitted in the form of a 1000 word essay or an alternative media format of your choice.  (see below)

The winner will receive £300 and the runner-up £200.  The winning entries will be published on the Centre's nationally recognised website.  The winner will also be invited to attend (all expenses paid) the Higher Education Academy's 2-day annual conference which will be held at the University of Hertfordshire from 22 to 23 June 2010.
