Transactions
CEBE Transactions is a peer reviewed journal publishing case studies, project
reports, essays, research findings, reviews and other work relating to teaching,
learning, scholarship and the research-teaching-consultancy link in Built Environment
disciplines. It is a means of rapidly disseminating innovation, ideas, good
practices and lessons learned and submissions will be refereed principally on
the basis of usefulness. They should contain sufficient information for readers
to understand the nature of the practices described and to draw lessons for
their own practices. Contributions do not have to be systematically located
within published literature - the body of knowledge about teaching and learning
practices in the Built Environment is not as well organised as substantive research
knowledge. Papers should, however, contain references to other work that helps
contextualise the issues discussed. More formally argued research and review
papers and more substantial comments contributing to published learned debate
about education in Built Environment subjects, may be submitted to CEBE's pedagogic
research journal "Journal of Education in the Built Environment".
For further details on Transactions see our Transactions
pages.
Journal for Education in the Built Environment (JEBE)
JEBE will provide a mechanism for fostering a community of teacher-researcher-practitioner
scholars, engaged in rigorous research and reflection of practice. JEBE aims
to be one of the principal international homes for peer-refereed papers on built
environment focused educational research and theory. It will be a major resource
for teachers, trainers, practitioners and scholars in all built environment
higher education disciplines, providing a forum for discussion and debate and
a means for disseminating the findings of well founded academic investigations.
The focus of the journal will be to:
- Publish scholarly articles on education, pedagogy, educational technology
and knowledge transfer, covering empirical pedagogical research, applied educational
theory and practice issues.
- Draw from the international community of educators (lecturers, researchers,
trainers, professional institutions, those responsible for educational policy
and management) to examine social and cultural issues surrounding built environment
education.
- Identify the vocational dimension of education and academic-industry links.
For further details on JEBE see our JEBE
pages.
NewsUpdate
Issues of NewsUpdate can be read using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
For further details on NewsUpdate see our NewsUpdate
pages.
Working Papers
CEBE Working Papers provide a means of rapidly disseminating substantial contributions
to knowledge about learning and teaching in Built Environment fields. They lie
somewhere between ephemeral reports and refereed journal articles and will have
something approaching the substance of a journal paper but will be less polished.
In some cases, early drafts of papers that are eventually published within journals
will be considered as Working Papers, especially where they elaborate on issues
in a way that journal papers cannot due to space restrictions. Alternatively,
Working Papers might also have something approaching the detail and focus of
a project report but would be less concerned with reporting project-specific
process and procedure.
For further details on Working Papers see our Working Papers
pages.
Briefing Guides
The Centre is establishing a new CEBE Briefing Guide series (ISSN 1744-9839)
and over the coming months new titles will be added to the series. CEBE Briefing
Guides aim to provide concise and essential information on good and innovative
practice for teaching staff in Built Environment subjects. They contain ideas
for designing new modules and it is hoped will provide inspiration for re-shaping
existing subjects and curricula.
For further details on Briefing Guides see our Briefing Guides pages.
Habitat
HABITAT is the Journal of the Centre for Education in the Built Environment,
formerly the CTI Centre for the Built Environment. A number of back issues of
the printed version of HABITAT are available from the centre.
For further details on Habitat see our Habitat pages.
